Maida Poori (Puri)

I am not eating much of stuff made from Maida (because it processed) However my kids are mad about stuff done using Maida anything you name it like Pizza, Puri, Parotta etc.. So once a week I try to rotate these items so this week I did Puri

Ingredients

Maida – 1 cup
Rawa – 2 tablespoons

Yogurt – 1 tablespoon

Sugar – 1/2 teaspoon
Oil or Ghee – 1 tablespoon
Salt – 1/2 teaspoon or as per taste
Oil for deep frying

Use small Kada so you don’t waste so much of oil. Don’t use the fried oil again (once the hot oil cools down don’t use it or reheat to high temperature)

Method

Mix maida, rawa, Yogurt, sugarsalt, and a tablespoon of oil or ghee together. Add water little by little and make a smooth dough. Cover with a damp cloth and keep it for at least half an hour.
Heat Oil in a kadai and keep it in medium flame. Make small balls from the dough and roll it to small circles. The puri should not be too thin or too thick. Put the poori in the hot oil and fry till fluff well.
