I am big fan of yogurt and Mango. In fact my whole family is. I wanted to try this Mango Pulissery for very long time. For some reason I kept missing it. So this time when I started to see mangoes I made list of things I wanted to try with mangoes. This dish is one of the first ones…
Ingredients
Ripe Mango – 1 (peeled and cubed)
Yogurt – 1/2 cup (sour)
Coconut – 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder – 1/4 teaspoon (increase it if your mango is sweeter)
Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Green Chillies – 4 (sliced into two)
Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
Coconut Oil – 1 teaspoon
Mustard Seeds – 1/4 teaspoon
Urad dhal – 1/2 teaspoon
Dry Red Chillies – 2 (Broken into two)
A few Curry Leaves
Method
Grind the coconut, green chilles, cumin seeds into smooth paste. Add in yogurt, turmeric powder and Whip it once. Keep it aside
Let it boil. Reduce the flame and add yogurt. Add the yogurt paste and mix well. Make sure you add the yogurt in low flame. In a separate pan add oil. When is hot add mustard seeds. Let it pop. Add curry leaves, urad dhal and red chillies. Fry till it is brown in color.
Add this back to mango and yogurt mixture. Mix well. Switch it off.
Serve hot with rice.
