Mango fryo, also known as frozen mango yogurt, is a delicious and refreshing dessert that is perfect for a hot summer day. In this article, we will explore the history of mango fryo, the ingredients used to make it, and the health benefits of this tasty treat.

I Love frozen yogurt. There are so many flavours in the market. I wanted to try frozen yogurt at home. I love mango flavored dishes. So I have decided to try out with Mango. It came out pretty good. My kids who are not in flavor of frozen yogurt they always complain it is sour. But they loved this one.

History of Mango Fryo: Mangoes are believed to have originated in India over 5,000 years ago and have been cultivated for centuries throughout Southeast Asia, South America, and Africa. Mangoes have long been used in traditional medicine for their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. The first recorded use of mangoes in frozen yogurt was in the United States in the 1970s when the frozen yogurt craze was at its peak.

Ingredients:

Hung curd / Greek yogurt – 2 cups (I have used Greek yogurt)
Mango – 2 (I have used 2 alphonso)
Sugar – 1/2 cup (adjust based on your sweetness. For video I have added brown sugar, for the post white sugar)
Lemon juice – 1/4 teaspoon (optional. I didn’t use it)

Method

Grind to smooth paste 1/2 curd, mango using blender / food processor or mixie. Add rest for mango, sugar, lemon juice if using (I didn’t use it).  Grind to smooth paste.

Freeze it for 3 hours. Take out and blend it again. Freeze for another 2 hours. I have done blending for every 30 mins (3 times) or till yogurt become smooth and creamy
After last beating just refrigerate.

Enjoy it with your favourite toppings

Health Benefits: Mangoes are packed with essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, vitamin A, and potassium. They are also high in fiber and antioxidants, which can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Yogurt is also a great source of calcium and protein, which are important for maintaining strong bones and muscles. Honey is a natural sweetener that contains antioxidants and can help boost the immune system. Lime juice is high in vitamin C and can help improve digestion.
