Mango Thokku – Manga Thokku Recipe – Pickle recipe

Back home we have a mango tree and my mum sent the mango through my friend. I wanted to do pickle but I like thokku. So decided to make thokku. I asked my mum to send the recipe to me. This goes well with curd rice. I also like thokku dosa will post the recipe soon. I know these days people buy Pickles however I prefer homemade ones as it doesn’t contain any preservatives. 
Ingredients


Grated Raw mango – 1 cup
Turmeric powder- 1/4 teaspoon
Chilli powder – 2 to 3 teaspoon (adjust based on your spice level and spiciness of chilli powder. I have used 2)
Salt to taste
Muastard seeds – 1 teaspoon
Fenugreek powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Asafoetida/Hing – 3 pinch
Oil – 4 tablespoon ( I have used Sesame seeds oil)
Curry leave – 10


Method:

Heat the oil and add mustard seeds. Let it pop. Add curry leaves, asafoetida. Fry for a 30 sec and grated mango

Fry for 5 mins in low flame. Add Salt, Turmeric powder, red chilli powder, fenugreek powder. Mix well

Reduce the flame to low. Continue to cook till oil separates while stirring in between
Switch it off and let it cool down 

Store it in air tight container
