Masala Tea

I am not a big fan of either coffee or milk tea. But I prefer to have Tea than Coffee. However no one at home prefer to have. Most of the time I do when someone visiting me or during weekend. Recently my another Chinese colleague went to India and brought over Tea but not sure how to make it so I was asked for the recipe. So I wanted put the recipe and share with her also. My helper is an expert in this. This recipe is from my helper

Ingredients

Milk – 200 ml ( I use Skim milk. If you are using full cream you can take 1/2 as milk and add 1/2 water)
Mint leaves – 2 teaspoon
Cardamom  powder – 1 teaspoon
Indian Tea powder – 3 teaspoon
Ginger 1 and 1/2 inch (chopped coarsely)
Sugar per taste

Method

Heat all the ingredients except sugar (Since I have used skim milk I didn’t add any water so started with milk directly). Use heavy bottom vessel or non stick one or milk vessel
Let it boil for 3 – 4 mins

Strain it (First snap of straining tea.. Need to get better :-))

Mix sugar

Ready to have nice Masala Tea
(If you are adding water, Heat the water first with  mint leaves , Cardamom   powder, tea powder, ginger and boil till the water is brown and add milk and boil it for 1-2 mins)
