I love any chaat. When I saw this here I immediately add it to my bucket list. The idea of shallow fried peas Tikki really tempting me from the time I saw it. Also, there is no potato in the recipe. I have followed the recipe from here Just added some nuts to make it more wholesome. This can be done for your tea time snack or starter for lunch or dinner. For any chaat lovers like me, this can be a meal by itself.
Ingredients
Peas – 200 g ( I have used frozen)
Onion – 1 small
Poha – 1/4 cup
Bread crumbs – 1/2 cup
Mushroom – 1/4 cup
salt to taste
Green chilies – 1
Mint leaves – 10
Walnuts – 1 tablespoon
oil for shallow frying
For Chaat
Yogurt – 1/2 cup
red chili powder as required – for garnishing
Roasted peanut – 1 tablespoon
Sev – as required
Coriander leaves as required
Pani puri sweet chutney – as required
Method:
Grind Peas, walnut into a coarse paste.
Mix all other ingredients (My son is not a big fan of onion so I have fried with a teaspoon of oil. If you are fine directly add it)
Take small balls and flatten it into Tikki
Heat oil in the pan for shallow frying. Add Tikki. Cook till both sides are done
Cook till both sides are done. In a plate arrange Tikki and pour dahi / yogurt
Garnish with the rest of the ingredients.
