Mutter Mushroom | Peas Mushroom Recipe | Vegetarian Gravy Recipe By Veena Theagarajan

I actually wanted Mushroom for making rice for my son as it was his favourite and his birthday coming. But in the shop I normally buy left over about only 300g Still I went ahead to get that. After getting it I was wondering what do to with it. Mutter Mushroom is something I love. It has been a while since I did that. So I have decided to do that. It is perfect side dish for Roti / Rice.
Ingredients


Mushroom – 300 g (if you can you can add another 100g) (slice it thinly)
Green Peas – 1 1/2 cup

Cashew Nuts – 1 tablespoon
Almond – 1 tablespoon
Oil – 2 teaspoon
Onion – 1 (finely Chopped)
Tomato – 2 (finely chopped)
Mint Leaves – 1 tablespoon
Garlic- 5 pods (Finely Chopped)
Ginger – 1 inch (Finely chopped)
Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
Green chillies – 2 finely chopped
Dry Red chillies – 2 (broken into few pieces)
Subji masala – 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Dry kasoori methi / Fenugreek leaves – 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves – 1 teaspoon

Method:

Soak Cashew and almond in hot water for 30 mins. Grind to smooth paste

Heat a teaspoon of oil. Add Onion,ginger and garlic fry till onion is cooked (soft). Add Tomato. Fry till Tomato is mushy. Add Green chillies, Mint leaves and Red chillies fry for another min. Switch it off and let it cool down. Grind to smooth paste

Heat a teaspoon of oil and add cumin seeds. When it start to crackle add grinded tomato masala. Add all masala powder and fry till nice aroma comes. Add sliced mushrooms and salt. Mix well. Let it cook. When it is half cook add cashew nut paste and mix well and cook for another 2-3 mins. Add Peas and cook till peas is cooked. Add Dry kasoori methi leaves. Mix well. 

Switch it off and serve hot with roti / rice
