Peas Mint Pulao – Peas Mint Rice – Lunch box recipe – Rice recipe

I love the flavour of Mint. I wanted t o do this Mint Peas Pulav for quite sometime..My second son hates peas. So I seldom do Peas rice.. But whenever I get chance I will try to do. It is very quick lunch box recipe. Perfect for party too.. If you like Mint flavour for sure you will love this.. Try it out. I have used frozen peas so I have added peas after rice is half cooked. If you are adding fresh peas add it when you add rice..
Ingredients


Rice Of your choice – 1.25 cups (I have used Jeeraga Samba) 
Oil – 3 teaspoon
Ginger Paste – 1 teaspoon
Garlic paste – 2 teaspoon
Shahi Jeera – 1 teaspoon
Peas – 1.5 cups (you can reduce it to 1 cup according to your requirement)
Salt to taste
cinnamon stick – 1 inch
Clove – 3-4
Bay leaves – 2
Kal Pasi – few
Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon
Coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon (finely chopped)

To grind to paste
Mint leaves –  1 cup
Fresh grated Coconut – 1/4 cup
Green chillies – 3 (adjust to your spice level)
Onion – 1 (medium.. Chopped)
Almonds – 10


Method:

Wash and soak rice for 15 mins. Drain extra water. Keep it aside. Grind all the ingredients under To grind to paste section with little water. 

Heat the pan with oil. Add Cinnamon, clove, bay leaves, kal pasi. Fry for 20 sec. Add grinded paste, ginger and garlic paste. Fry till raw smell goes off

Add rice and mix well. Add 2 cups of water and required salt

Close the lid and let it cook when rice is 1/2 done add peas. Mix well

Let it cook completely. Add chopped coriander and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix well. 

Switch it off. Serve hot
