Poori (Puri) for Chaat items – Fuchka, Panipuri, phuchka, gupchup, golgappa Recipes – chaat Recipes

This Poori is top favourite for my kids. This is one of our regular items for dinner. Taste of this is some what different from ones you get it from shops. Kids are so used to it they prefer what we make at home than outside. This is anytime any day favourite. It does have lot of work. I try to do this at least once a month.


Ingredients: 

3/4 cup Semolina (Rava / Suji) 
Maida – 1/2 Cup

Roasted Urad Dhal Powder – 1 Tablespoon
Salt as required 
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
Oil to deep fry



Method:
Mix sooji, maida, Urad dhal Powder, baking soda, salt and enough water to knead a stiff dough. Use Chill Water
Stand covered with wet cloth for 15-20 minutes.
Divide the dough into 4 parts
With the help of some dry maida roll out each into big chappati. Using a round biscuit cutter or cover of the tiffin  box cut small rounds
Heat oil in a pan and deep fry puris till very light brown and crisp.
Drain in a paper towel for a while to dry out the oil.
Store in an airtight container when cool.
