Quinoa Idli – Quinoa steamed pancake – Healthy breakfast recipe – Healthy Dinner recipe

I love quinoa. In fact whole family likes it. I always look to include it as part our meal at least twice a week. These days I have been trying different types of idli. I have posted quinoa dosa before. I wanted to try the idli. I pretty much followed similar proposition just that I have increased urad dhal. Idli came out pretty soft and tasty. I had few enquiry about Quinoa where to get it in India and it’s Hindi name
Ingredients:


Quinoa – 2 cup
Idli rice – 1 cup
Urad dhal – 3/4 cup
Salt to taste
Fenugreek seeds – 1/2 teaspoon



Method
Wash and soak Quinoa and rice together. Urad dhal and fenugreek seeds together. Soak both for 6-8 hours or overnight. Grind the Urad dhal till it is fluffy Add Quinoa and rice and grind till it is done. 

Let the batter ferment. It might take about 6-8 hours. You can use the idli cooker or traditional idli maker. Pour the batter and steam it till idli is cooked ( it will take about 8-10 mins at medium flame). When you touch with wet hand it shouldn’t stick to your hand. 

Serve hot with your favourite chutney
