Ragi Ribbon Pakoda – Ragi Ola Pakoda – Diwali snacks – Kids friendly recipe – Diwali Savoury recipe – Tea time snack recipes

Ragi Ribbon Pakoda

I love Ragi in any form .. I have posted Ragi murukku. Ribbon pakoda is one of most favourite savoury snack. It has many different name too (Ola pakoda, Rottu pakoda, Oatu pakoda, Ribbon tape etc..). My mum does it using different laddle meant for it. I normally use muruku / Chakli press. It is easiest way to feed the millet to anyone who is not taking it otherwise.. This turned out so crispy and addictive. I have added butter as my kids love the texture of snacks with butter. you can add hot oil in the place of butter too. Try this out for this Diwali and enjoy millet base snack
Ingredients:

Ragi Flour / Finger millet flour – 2 cups
Rice flour – 1/4 cup
Roasted Gram flour / Pottukadalai flour – 1/4 cup
Bengal gram flour / Kadalai Mavu / Besan flour – 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Sesame seeds – 2 teaspoon
Water for making dough
Butter – 2 tablespoon (or Hot oil for Vegan option)
Oil for Deep frying

Method:

Sieve Rice four, Ragi flour, Besaan flour, Roasted gram flour, Salt together. Add all the ingredients in the ingredients section except oil.

Make a smooth dough (make sure your dough is little softer than normal Murkku) by adding little by little  Take the muruku Achu and fill it with dough.

Heat the deep curved pan with oil for deep fry. You can press it directly on to hot oil or you can do it on the tissue paper and place that in the oil slowly. Cook it till Shhh sound subside.

Drain the extra oil and place it on the kitchen tissue for few mins to let it cool down and remove excess oil

Store it in air tight container.. Enjoy
