Raw Banana Rice – Raw Banana powder rice – Raw banana podi rice – Aratikaya Annam – Simple one pot meal – Simple Rice recipes

In my childhood I had this rice. However I almost forgot it. Recently I saw this in Venkatesh Bhat show. My aunt does it in a similar way but she adds peanuts and grated coconut. In this recipe I did add both. I have used brown rice for this but you can use normal white rice. This is perfect for party too. 
Ingredients:


Cooked rice – 2 cup
Oil / Ghee – 1 tablespoon (I have used coconut oil)
Raw banana – 1
Dry Red chillies – 5
Coriander seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
Bengal gram dhal – 2 teaspoon
Toor Dhal / Tuvar Dal – 2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Roasted Peanut – 2 tablespoon
Grated coconut – 2 tablespoon
Mustard seeds – 1/4 teaspoon
Asafoetida/ Hing – 1/2 teaspoon
Urad dhal – 2 teaspoon
Curry Leaves – 15



Method:


Heat 3 teaspoon of oil add Dry chillies, Toor Dhal, Bengal gram dhal and fry till dhals are brown in color. Add Grated coconut and Coriander seeds. And fry for another 1 min. 

Switch it off and let it cool down. Grind to fine powder

Cook the Banana and peel the skin. Keep it aside

Heat rest of the oil. Add mustard seeds, hing, Urad dhal and curry leaves. Fry till dhals are brown. Add Coconut, Roasted Peanut. Fry for another min.

Mash the banana and keep it aside. Add mashed Banana to tempered ingredients
              

Add grinded masala powder and required salt. Mix well. Switch it off and let it cool down

Add cooked rice and mix well

Serve hot
