Roasted Phool Makhana Recipe – Spiced puffed lotus seeds snack – Roasted Foxnuts – Simple tea time snack

I love Makhana taste. It has some nutty taste. It is also high in nutrients. It is also easy to incorporate into your favourite dishes. This also goes for Vrat ka Khana. It is good for dieters too. It is definitely healthier than popcorns. Perfect snack for tea time or for watching your movie. 
Ingredients

 

Puffed Lotus seeds / Foxnuts / Makhana – 2 cups

Sea salt / Rock Salt or regular salt to taste
Oil or Ghee – 1 tablepoon (I have used Ghee)
Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Red chilli powder – 1/2 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon. ( I have used 1 teaspoon)
Pepper Powder – 1/2 teaspoon (Optional)
Chat masala – 1 teaspoon (optional. I didn’t use it)
Curry leaves – 10 (Dry roasted and crushed)

 

Method
 
In a bowl take melted Ghee / Oil, Add Salt, Turmeric powder, Red chilli powder, pepper powder. Mix well.

Dry roast Lotus Seeds till they are chruncy. Add Ghee / Oil Mixture. Mix well. Turn off the flame.

Let it cool down and store it in air tight container.
