Semiya cutlet recipe – kids snacks recipe – teatime snack recipes

I wanted to try something for evening snacks. Initially I wanted to try cutlet with onion or without onion. But my sons wanted to try something different may be with bread. So I decided to combine bread and give it a twist with vermicelli. It came out very good and they emptied the plate in no time. Keeping in freezer is critical to get crispy texture. This is good for serving as finger food / starter / snacks.

Ingredients



For Masala
Mixed vegetables – 1.5 cups (Carrot, beans, cabbage, capsicum, spring onion)
Cooked potato – 1 medium size (peel the skin and mash)
oil –  2 teaspoon
onion – 1 (chopped finely)
Tomato sauce – 1 tablespoon
Chilli sauce – 2 teaspoon
salt to taste


For cutlet
all purpose flour – 1/4 cup
corn flour  – 1 tablespoon
salt to taste
pepper powder – 1 teaspoon
oil for shallow fry
bread – 3-4 (I have used milk bread)
vermicelli – 1/2 cup



Method:


Heat oil. Add onion and fry till transparent. Add mixed vegetables mix it

Add salt, Chilli, tomato sauce mix well. continue to cook till it is done. Add cooked potato mix well. Cook for 2 more mins. Switch it off

In a bowl take all purpose flour, corn flour, salt. Add water to make thick paste

Take bread. remove sides. Place masala on one side of bread. Add flour paste on top of it. Sprinkle vermicelli on top. 

Cut into desired shape. Freeze it for 30 mins

Freeze it for 30 mins. Heat oil for shallow fry. Place bread pieces

Once done turn it over. cook again. Once done take it out

Serve hot
