-My kids love Indian titbits.. After starting the blog I started to see this subji in some blogs. It is a very simple dish. I wanted to try it for my kids. I had some sev on hand and tried this dish. Kids loved it as expected. I added Onion / Garlic to it but if you want to do this without onion you can do it also.
Ingredients:
Tomatoes – 2-3 (medium. Chopped roughly). If you are skipping onion/garlic then increase tomatoes to 5.
Garlic – 3-4 pods (chopped finely)
Ginger – 1 inch (chopped finely)
Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Red chilli powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Garam masala – 1/2 teaspoon
Heat the pan. Dry roast Coconut and cashewnuts. Keep it aside. Add 2 teaspoon of oil into pan. Add garlic and ginger. Fry till garlic is slightly brown.
Add onion and fry till transparent. Add tomatoes and fry till mushy. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala. Fry till nice aroma released.
Let it cool down and grind to smooth paste.
Add rest of the oil in the pan. When it is hot add cumin seeds, curry leaves slit green chillies, asafoetida and fry till cumin seeds crackle.
Add grinded paste, required water and salt. Let it boil. Switch it off. Add Coriander leaves and When serving add Sev and serve
Enjoy!
