Sheer Khurma – Sheer Korma – Simple Ramzan – Ramadan Recipes – Iftar recipes – Simple Festival recipes

I have posted Semiya kheer / Vermicelli payasam in my space. I tasted this version at my friends house a few years ago. At that time I thought she had made the Semiya Payasam / vermicelli Kheer but sweeten with Dates. I liked the dish and asked for the recipe. She gave it to me through email. I moved it into my keep folder. I didn’t know the name for it.  After blogging I saw Sheer khurma in many blogs and got know the name of it. Here you go with the recipe
Ingredient:
Full Fat Milk – 3 cups
Fine semiya / Vermicelli variety – 1/2 cup
Sugar – 2-4 tablespoon (adjust to your sweet. I have add only 1 tablespoon. For me sweetness from Dates was enough)
Butter – 1 tbsp
Rose Water – 1 tsp
Cardamom powder – a small pinch

Dates – 2.5 tablespoon
Mixed nuts – 1/4 cup



Method:

Heat 1/4 teaspoon of ghee. Fry dates. And soak it in 1/2 cup warm milk.Boil milk. When it is warm take about 1/2 cup and soak the dates in warm milk. Continue to boil rest of the milk till it reduces into half. 

Fry the mixed nuts in 1/2 tablespoon of butter. Keep it aside. 

Fry the Semiya / Vermicelli till golden brown in rest of the butter. Add to boiled milk and cook it.

Once cooked add Sugar, Nuts, Dates and Cardamom powder, Rose water. Mix well. Cook till it is thick.  Switch it off




Enjoy this rich dessert / sweet / snack

    Yet another stage of rebufferism I could say ..anyways will make a try on these recipes that ha sbeen posted in this website.Kindly do share more of these types of recipes in this site
