Soya Chunks Sandwich (Meal Maker sandwich)

These days we have craze for soya chunks. My son wanted a sandwich. I love soy chunks from childhood. It is quite filling and keep your kids active for long time. It is high in protein and a good way to start the day. Spices are used to suppress the unique smell of soy chunks. If you are avoiding soy chunks due to smell you should try again!
Ingredients:

Soya Chunks (small size) – 3 Cups (i didn’t have small so what I have shown here is big. If you have grated one you can use that)
Coconut – 1/2 cup
cinnamon – 1 inch
Cloves – 3-4
Sambar podi / powder – 1 tablespoon (adjust based on spice level you want)
Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Fennel seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
Salt per taste
Oil – 1 teaspoon
Garlic – 4 pods (finely chopped)
Bread – 8

Method:

Grind together Coconut, Salt, Sambar powder, fennel seeds, cinnamon and cloves with little water. Keep it aside

Boil the soya chunks with enough water and salt. Drain and wash it. Let it cool down. Squeeze the water out. Chop it into finer pieces

Heat the kada and add oil when it is hot add chopped Garlic pieces and fry till they are light brown. Add chopped soy chunks and grinded masala paste and turmeric powder. Mix well. Cook it for 5-7 mins. Add coriander leaves. Switch it off

Heat flat tawa and put the buttered bread and toast it till the side is brown and turn it over and toast on the other side. Take out and put the Soy Masala between 2 breads and enjoy the toast

I have used brown bread. So it is really healthy and protein packed breakfast!
