My kids like stuffed parathas. It has been ages since I made this spinach roti so long ago that my kids don’t even remember. So I have decided to make it for the dinner. If you are afraid of getting your chapati hard or not soft after few hours of making (for lunch box) etc.. you should try these flavoured paratha. It is healthy, hard to go wrong & perfect for lunch
Ingredients
For Spinach / Palak Paste
Spinach – one bunch (Clean and chop it)
Garlic – 4 pods
Small onion / shallots – 6
Cumin powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Green Chillies – 2 (slit into 2)
Oil – 2 teaspoon
For Chapati
Wheat flour – 3 cup
Spinach paste – 1 cup
Oil for cooking the chapati
Method:
Heat the pan with oil. When it is hot add garlic and fry till they are slight brown in color. Add onion and fry till it is transparent. Add Spinach and chillies. Fry for a min. Now add Cumin seeds powder and salt and fry for another 3 mins. Switch off the flame. Let it cool down. Make a puree of it. Keep it aside
In wide bowl add wheat flour and spinach paste. Make a dough if needed sprinkle water to make the dough.
Keep it aside closed for 30 mins. Take a lemon size ball and roll into round chapathi. If needed dust it with flour. I wanted the chapati to be in square shape. I have posted steps below so you can follow if you also prefer square shape
Heat the flat pan when it is hot put chapathi and sprinkle oil around it for me 1/8 teaspoon enough. Cook it in medium flame when it is done turn the chapati and cook other side of it. When it is done take it out and serve hot. Repeat for all the dough
