This is my favourite Kurma. My mum’s speciality . Whatever I do it doesn’t taste same as what my mum does. But our family likes my version of it too.. May be the more you eat the more you get used it. My 2nd son is not a big fan of Tomato except this and tomato Thokku. This can go well with idli or dosa. If there is any left over I used to have it with Bread next day for breakfast. You try it this will become your regular bread sidedish..
Ingredients
Onions – 2 (cut finely)
Tomatoes – 1/2 Kg (Select fully ripped ones)
Garlic – 4 pods
Oil – 1 1/2 Tablespoon
Soya Milk – 1 cup
Fennel Seeds – 1 teaspoon
Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
Gram Masala Powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Sugar – 1/2 teaspoon (Optional)
Salt per taste
Curry Leaves – 10
Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves – 1 tablespoon
Grind Together
Cashew Nut – 7
Poppy Seeds – 1 Tablespoon
Red Chillies – 5
Green Chillies – 3
Grind above ingredients with little water
Method
Put Tomatoes in hot water and let it boil
When the skin breaks take out the tomatoes. Peel the Tomato Skin and mash it well with hands
Heat oil in the kada. When it is hot add add Cumin Seeds, Fennel Seeds and Curry Leaves. When it crackle add Finely cut Onion and sliced Garlic. Fry till it is golden brown.
Add Mashed tomato and fry for 1 min.
Add Grinded masala and Sugar, Gram Masala, Salt
Let it boil till raw smell goes off and gravy is in desired consistency
Garnish it with Coriander Leaves
