My family loves anything with puff pastry. So far I have been using store brought puff pastry. I wanted to try this open Pastry pie with very less spices as some of my colleague who is following my blog from other country wanted me to post some simple dish (as they find it difficult to find Indian Spices). For spicing the dish I have used 1 green chilles and Red chilli flakes (used for pasta). I have used Roma tomatoes. It gave nice flavour to the curry.
Ingredients
For Curry Paste
Onion – 1 (Finely chopped)
Tomatoes – 2 (Finely Chopped)
Garlic paste – 2 teaspoon
Ginger paste – 1 teaspoone
Salt to tast
Potato – 3-4 small size
Sprouts – 1 cup
Oil – 1 tablespoon (I have used olive oil)
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon (optional)
For Pie
Pastry sheets – 2 (each sheets yielded 6 pieces)
Method:
Let’s prepare curry. Cook potato with salt and mash it roughly. Cook the sprout with salt and 2 tablespoon of water (don’t remove water from sprouts)
Heat 2 teaspoon of oil. Add onion and fry till transparent. Add garlic, ginger and fry till raw smells goes off. Add chopped tomatoes and fry till mushy.
Let it cool down and grind to paste. Add rest of the oil and add grinded paste and finely chopped green chillies.
Add mashed Potato and cooked sprouts and mix well. Continue to cook till it is thick. Add coriander leaves and mix well
Pre heat the oven at 180 degree. Arrange puff basket and bake till it browned (for me it took 7 mins).
