Wheat Rava Idli – Broken Wheat Idli – Samba Godhumai Idli – Daliya Idli – Healthy breakfast recipe – South Indian Breakfast Recipe

I always love to try different idli and dosa recipes. These days I am travelling to India very often. One of those trips I made was a weekend visit to my friend’s place. She made Wheat rava idli and it tasted good. I have tried this before but it turned out a bit sticky. But my friend’s version was not sticky. So I got recipe from her. I had chance to try this last week. Here you go with recipe

Ingredients


Wheat rava / Broken Wheat – 2 cups
Aval / beaten rice  – 1/2 cup
Urad dhal – 1 cup
Fenugreek seeds – 1/8 teaspoon
Salt to taste



Method


Wash and soak Urad dhal and fenugreek seeds together for 6-8 hours. 

Next day morning wash poha and soak for 15 mins. Wash Wheat rava and drain the water

Grind the Urad dhal till it is fluffy. Add Poha and grind for 10 mins. 

Add Wheat Rava and grind for another 3 mins. Add Salt and grind for another min

Ferment the batter for 6 – 8 hours or overnight. Mix well the raised / fermented batter. Grease the idli plate / or place the wet cloth in traditional idli plate. Pour the idli batter

Steam it in idli cooker for 10 mins or till when inserted a spoon it comes out clean. Remove it from idli plate 



Serve hot
