Cabbage kheer, wait what?? Yes today we are going to look at how to make cabbage kheer? It sound weird and new right. I did the same thing when my mom told about this cabbage jheer.
Starting 2021 on a sweet note! Happy new year! I got this recipe from my mum. She told me about it after having one of marriage. I was so skeptical about the taste. But my mum assured me of taste. So tried this. To my surprise, it tasted good.
And if you serve anyone who is not in the process of making it they cannot find out. I have used raw sugar so the color of the kheer is a little brown. I have used full cream milk I felt full cream goes well for this kheer as cabbage has the nature of releasing more water.
Ingredients
Cabbage- 1/2 cup
Milk – 1.5 cup
Ghee – 2 teaspoon
cashew – 1 tablespoon
bay leaf -1
Cinnamon – 1 inch
Cardamom – 2
Rosewater – 1 tablespoon
Raw sugar – 1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon (adjust to your sweet level)
Method
Heat a teaspoon of ghee. Fry cashew till brown in color
Heat 1/2 cup water. Add cabbage. Cook it.
Add cabbage fry for a min. Add milk. Continue to boil a min
Add rosewater, Add salt, raw sugar.
