Aadi Ragi Koozh Recipe

I have posted buttermilk ragi before. Aadi koozh recipe is very close to it with the addition of rice really make its full meal. A friend of mine makes this koozh every Friday of aadi month.  Also heard from her Aadi Koozh / Aadi Kool is famous in Tamil Nadu in Aadi Month which is distributed as prasadam in Mariamman temple throughout the Aadi month. This perfect for healthy morning breakfast too. I can have this any day! I make buttermilk Ragi at least twice a week. The addition of Rice is new to me. I wanted to post this version too in my space. So here you go with the recipe. 

Ingredients

Ragi flour – 1/2 cup
Rice – 1.5 tablespoons
Buttermilk – 1 cup
Green chili – 1
curry leaves – few
small onion – 2 teaspoons
salt to taste

Method:
Mix in 2 cups of water with Ragi mix well without lumps. Keep it aside

Take 1 cup of water and cook rice with salt

Add Ragi to cooked rice. Mix well. Continue to stir and cook till desired consistency. Once done switch it off

Let it cool down. add buttermilk, green chili, curry leaves, Small onion, Mix well. If you want warm you can heat up for 2 mins.

Enjoy with pickle or by itself
