Steam bread recipe – Snack recipes – Breakfrast, brunch recipes

In Singapore local cafe we have this steamed bread with kaya, peanut butter or butter. I tasted it with my friends about 6 months ago I wanted to try this at home I wanted to buy Thick bread to try this which I keep forgetting. Other day My sis was visiting me and I wanted them to try some local food. So we went to ya kun toast and order few sandwiches (both crispy and steamed one) they loved it. My sons are not big fan of kaya so I have decided to try with Peanut butter and Jam. Everyone loved it for tea time snack. You must try this really hot..

Ingredients

Bread – 8 slices (Thick white bread)
Peanut butter – 4 tablespoons
Jam – 4 tablespoon

Method:

Make peanut butter sandwich by spreading peanut butter on to one side of the bread and close it with other one

Make Jam sandwich by spreading Jam on to one side of the bread and close it with other one

 

Cut into favourite shape (use scissors to get nice edges)

Steam it in idli cooker for 10 mins. I have greased the plate slightly

 

Once done remove it

Serve hot
