Pesto is one of my most go to recipe for my lazy days. My kids love the flavour of Spring onion so I was thinking of making this pesto recipe for a while. I finally got to do it. It is really different from normal pesto. I guess it is because of the taste of spring onion. Try this with the fresh spring onion and you will fall in love with it. If you are a fan of spring onion you should try this
Ingredients
For Pesto
Spring Onion – 1.5 cup
Coriander leaves – 1/2 cup
Basil leaves – 1/4 cup
Green chillies – 2
Pepper powder – 1/2 teaspoon (adjust to your spice level)
Parmesan cheese – 1/2 cup
Olive oil – 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Garlic – 5 pods
Almond / Walnut – 7-10
For Pasta
Pasta – 500g (of your choice)
Salt as required
Oil – 3 teaspoon (I have used Olive Oil)
Buttermilk – 1/2 cup
Method:
Grind all the ingredients under for pesto
Cook the Pasta according to package instruction
Heat the oil.add pesto and fry for another 3-5 mins. Reduce the flame completely. Add buttermilk
Add cooked pasta and mix it well. cook it for another 3-5 mins
Serve hot

Could u please explain what is the use of butter milk here,can we not use milk as a substitute
