Paruppu Pradhaman Recipe

Dal payasam or kheer is really healthy and tasty. I can have this for breakfast. I have posted Moong dal kheer in my space. I always love the combination of dal, Jaggery and coconut milk. It really tastes divine. This can good alternative to sweets / desserts which are loaded with refined sugar. This can be served hot or cold. So Enjoy!
Ingredients:
Chana dal – 1/2 cup
Powdered Jaggery – 1/2 cup

Ghee – 2 teaspoon
Thick Coconut Milk – 1/2 cup
Milk – 1/2 cup (boiled and cool down)
Cashews and almonds – 1 tablespoon (chopped )
Dry ginger powder – a small pinch



Method


Wash and cook Dhal with enough water. I pressured cook till 4 whistle. Dhal shouldn’t be mushy. Switch it off and let it cool down. Heat the ghee in a pan add cahewnuts. Remove it and keep it aside. 

In a pan mix jaggery and 1/4 cup of water cook until the jaggery dissolves completely, let it boil for 2 mins and off flame.

Add Jaggery and Cooked dhal. Mix well and mash it roughly. Add milk and mix well. Let it cook for 2 mins

Add dry ginger powder mix well. and coconut milk and mix well. Switch it off. Add fried nuts 

Enjoy it hot or cold
