Misal Pav Recipe – maharashtrian misal pav Recipe – Famous Street Food Recipe – Chaat recipe

How many of you can have Chaat item as a main dish.. Our family can.. We love chaat . Chaat is so easy to make so normally I do it during lazy weekend.. I love this recipe as it is made using moth mean sprouts/matki sprouts ..So this is quick and healthy dish. Sprouts are high in protein and nowadays my family is so particular to have protein rich meals at least once a day!. I made the sprouts in same way as green gram sprouts
Ingredients


Moth sprouts/matki sprouts – 2.5 cups (I have used 1/2 Moth Sprouts and 1/2 Green Gram sprouts)
Potato – 2 (medium)
Garlic – 4 pods
Onion – 1 (medium finely chopped)
Green chillies – 2
Oil – 2 tablespoon
Goda Masala / Garam masala – 2 teaspoon
Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Red chilli powder – 1 teaspoon (adjust to your spice level)
Cumin powder – 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves – 2 tablespoon (finely chopped)
Curry leaves – 15
Cumin seeds – 2 teaspoons


For misal pav
Pav Bread As required
Chopped onion as required
Chopped tomatoes as required
Coriander leaves – 2 tablespoon
Lemon juice – as required
Chiwda / Thick sev – As required
Butter / Oil – as required to toast Pav



Method:


Cook the Sprouts, Sliced potato with salt and turmeric powder.

Remove the skin and mash potato. Heat the pan with 3 teaspoon of oil. Add garlic and fry till brown color. 

Add onion and fry till transparent. Add tomatoes and fry till mushy. Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, Goda masala, Coriander powder, Red chilli powder. Fry till raw smell goes off

Let it cool down and grind to smooth paste. Heat rest of the oil and add cumin seeds, curry leaves. 

Let it crackle. Add grinded paste. Fry for 2 mins. Add Mashed potato and cooked dhal and required water and salt. 

Let it boil Add coriander leaves and switch it off. 

Toast the bread and serve hot with gravy, Add Chiwda, chopped onion, tomatoes, lemon juice per your taste
