A Simple Indian sweet to welcome 2014! Happy new year to all the readers and your family. Hope this year brings all the good thing in life. I wanted to start this year in a sweet note. This is a very simple recipe and you can do it under 30 mins. If you are poha lover you must try it
Ingredients
Aval / Poha / Flattened Rice – 1/2 cup(I used thick variety)
Ghee or oil – 2 tbsp
Sugar – 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup
Almond – 2 tablespoon (chop finely)
Water – 1/2 cup
Salt a pinch
Cardamom powder -1/6 teaspoon
Method:
Heat kada / Pan and add a 1 tablespoon of ghee /oil. Fry the phoa till brown. Let it cool down. Grind it to coarse powder.
In the same pan add water and let it boil. Add Phoa and salt. Let it cook. Add Almond and mix well.
When it is cooked add sugar and mix well. Sugar will start to melt and all will start to come together. When it start to leave the side add rest of ghee. Mix well. Cook for another 2 mins. Add Cardamom and mix well. Cook for a min and switch it off
Serve hot / warm
