I love horse gram because of its unique nutty taste. In fact I try to have at least 1 teaspoon kollu in some form every day due to the health benefits. I normally do the powder using previously posted method kollu podi. I was bit bored with it. So did variation to that and adding roasted gram dhal gave nice taste. This can be used as idli podi or can be mixed with rice also
Ingredients
Horse gram dhal – 1.5 cups
Roasted gram dhal / Pottukadalai – 1/2 cups
Dry Red chillies – 10-15
Curry leaves – 30
Pepper corn – 1 teaspoon
Method
Dry roast the ingredients one by one and let it cool down. When it cool down and grind to fine powder. And let it cool down. Store it in air tight container and it can last up to 3 months

I do prepare this kollu podi on monthly basis, love with rice tppped with ghee,my fav.
