Badam Murukku – Almond Murukku – Almond chakli recipe – Snacks recipe – Deepavali, Diwali recipe – Festivals recipe

I have posted cashew murukku in my space. It was a super duper hit so I wanted to try with almond after that. For those what u want to try you have to do it immediately if not it goes to back burner and sometimes you even forget it. I was asking my son what to post for this Diwali and he was like you have done so many murkku recipe what else can be done? I do have a list of things I want to try and post so when checked I saw this almond murukku so I wanted try. I followed the same recipe as cashew murukku. Since kids love garlicky flavour I have add garlic. you can skip it

Ingredients:

Rice flour / Idiyappam flour – 2 cups
Butter (at room temperature) – 2 tablespoon
Salt to taste
Asafoetida / hing/ Perungayam – 2 pinch
Roasted white Sesame seeds – 2 teaspoon
Roasted gram dal powder – 1/4 cup
red chlli powder – 1 teaspoon
Almonds – 70g
Oil for deep frying

Method:

Soak almonds in hot water for 30 mins. Remove skin

Grind to smooth paste with peeled garlic.

Take rest of the ingredients except oil in a broader vessel. Add almond paste

Add water little by little and make a smooth dough. Now take a murukku presser.  use your favourite plate. Fill in presser with dough. On a clean kitchen tissue press murukku

And Heat the oil in a curved pan. When the oil is hot add pressed murukku one by one. You hv to slide each murkku slowly one by one by side of the pan. Make sure you leave enough place for murukku to move around. Cook Murukkus at medium flame till “Shhhh” sound subside. Turn the murukku few times while cooking

Drain the extra oil and take the murukku out of the oil and leave it on kitchen tissue to drain extra oil

After cool down you can store it in Air tight container and enjoy as you need
