Gujarati Badra Vada Recipe

This is a new recipe for me. When I saw the pics from binjalsvegkitchen, I had bookmarked. Kept postponing it as I was not sure whether kids will have it.. But it kept lingering in my mind. So I thought of doing this regardless of kids interest. I love bajra (esp if it is freshly made flour) it has that nutty flavour. So I have decided to try out. I loved the taste of it . It was quite filling too. I had it with Coconut chutney. It went well with it.
Ingredients:

Bajra flour / Pearl millet flour – 1 cup
wheat flour – 1/4 cup
Green chillies – 1 (finely chopped)
Red chilli powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander Leaves  – 1 table spoon (finely chopped)
Salt to taste
yogurt – 1 tablespoon
Garlic – 2 teaspoon (finely chopped)
Sesame seeds – 1 tablespoon
Cumin powder – 1 teaspoon
Coriander powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Oil for deep fry

Method:

Take a bowl and add all the above ingredients except oil. Add water little by little and make a stiff dough. Keep it aside for 1 hr

Make small lemon size ball and flatten in using palm.

Prepare all the dough. Heat oil for deep frying. Once Oil is hot place vadas carefully, Cook it in medium flame till all sides are cooked

Once cooked drain extra oil and take it out and place it in kitchen tissue paper. Repeat process.

Serve hot
