Besan ki roti recipe – Gram flour roti with saffron recipe – Breakfast, Brunch or Dinner recipes – Snack recipes

Some of the North Indian dishes I only tried after starting blog so some dishes are totally new. This one is also new to me. When I made it first a couple of months back i made it as an evening snack and everyone loved the flavour of it. So after that i made it couple of times. I have added saffron soaked milk to make dough it gave nice flavour to the roti also rich taste. If you want you can skip it and instead add 2 teaspoon of yogurt while making dough. I normally serve with tomato pickle or mango thokku  or any spicy chutney will go well too
Ingredients:

 

Besan (gram flour) – 1 cup
Wheat flour – 1/2 cup
Coriander leaves – 1 teaspoon (Finely chopped)
Mint leaves – 1 teaspoon (Finely chopped)
Carom seed (ajwan) – 1/2 teaspoon
Cardamom powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Green chillies – 1-2 finely chopped
Onion – 2 teaspoon chopped
Salt to taste
Saffron – few strands
Hot milk – 1/4 + 2 teaspoon to 1/2 cup 
Melted butter – 2 teaspoon
Oil for cooking

Method:


heat milk and add saffron and soak for 30 mins. Take besan, atta in broader vessel. Add Chopped Chillies, Mint, Coriander leaves, Cardamom powder, ajwan, salt, melted butter and saffron milk.  (add milk as required to make smooth dough (if dough is sticky add flour to make smooth dough). keep it aside for 30 mins

Take lemon size balls. Take cleaned banana leaf or plastic sheet. Oil the surface. Take dough and make roti by spreading the dough (using your hands)

Heat pan and place the roties. Drizzle oil and let it cook in low flame.

Turn it over and cook again. Once done remove it

Serve hot
