manathakkali keerai (Black Nightshade) Thuvaiyal (thogayal)

When I visited my mum last time she made chutney with manathakkali keerai (Black Nightshade) for idli. She has tons of plant in her backyard. So she does lot of dishes with it. I normally I do Manathakkali kootu with it. This time I wanted to try out something to mix with rice. When I asked my mum she said we can do Thogayal. It tasted good. Here you go with the recipe

Ingredients:

Urad dhal – 1 teaspoon
Bengal Gram Dhal – 1 teaspoon
Manathakkali Keerai – 2 Cups

Red chillies – 3-5
asafetida – a pinch
Garlic – 10 Pods (Peel and slice thinly)
Onion – 1 tablespoon
Oil – 1 teaspoon
Coconut – 1 teaspoon

For Tempering

Oil – 1/2 teaspoon
Mustard seeds – 1/4 teaspoon
Urad dhal – 1 teaspoon

Method:

Heat the kada and add oil. When it is hot add urad dhal, Bengal Gram Dhal, red chilli and fry till dhal is brown in color. Add Garlic, asafetida and onion and fry for 1 min. Add Keerai, Salt and fry till the keerai is cooked. Add 1 tablespoon of Coconut and fry for another 1 min. Switch it off and let it cool down.

Transfer the mixture to mixie / blender / food processer. Grind to smooth paste. Heat the kada and add mustard seeds and urad dhal and fry till it is brown color. Add grinded paste and fry for another 1-2 mins. Switch it off

For the more health-conscious people, a great natural gout treatment for gout
seems to be gout cherry juice, as the juice can help the liver
and kidneys function more proficiently. Most
of the purines are eliminated from the blood
and the body via a person's urine, however when too much accumulates, the kidneys aren't
    capable of handling the excess.

I tried it and came out well 🙂

I just added little tamarind to it to enhance the taste….

    Tasty, healthy and simple recipe…
