Methi poori – Breakfast Recipe – Indian Puffed bread Recipe – Kids friendly Recipe

Methi Poori. I have done this many times but not sure why it took so long to post this recipe in my space. My kids prefer Maida poori or Bhatora over wheat poori. However they are big fan of this Methi poori. This is very flavourful recipe. You can have it with simple pickle or yogurt based pachadi. I normally use fresh Methi leaves. If you don’t get it you can use frozen or dry one. If you are using dried Methi soak it in hot water and drain the water before using it.
Ingredients

Wheat flour – 3 cups
Maida / All purpose flour – 1/4 cup
Rava / Sooji / Semolina – 2 tablespoon
Salt to taste
Methi leaves – 2 handful – Grind to coarse paste
Oil for deep frying

Method:

Clean Methi Leaves and grind to coarse paste.

Take Wheat flour, All purpose flour, Rava, Salt  in broad vessel. Add water and make it tight dough. Make small lemon size balls and keep it aside for at least 1 hr. It will keep the dough drier. I find this way it makes poori with less oil

Heat oil in deep curved pan. Roll out each balls into thin disk. Dust it flour while rolling as required

When Oil is hot slide the rolled poori  slowly. Press it with laddle. It will puff up. Pour oil on top of it. Flip it over and cook till bubble cease. Drain extra oil and place it on kitchen tissue paper.

Repeat the process. Enjoy this flavoured poori
