Peppercorn chutney – Milagu chutney – Chutney for Idli dosa – Dip recipes

This is the recipe from my helper. For the first time, I heard of using Fenugreek seeds in chutney. Without any hesitation, I decided to try out. Looking at the ingredients this cannot go wrong. I have tried with both idli or dosa. I loved it with ldli more as the pepper spiciness goes well with idli. This is definitely a good alternative and you can make it in no time. you must use Sesame oil for this. 

Ingredients:



Peppercorn – 2 teaspoon
Fenugreek seeds – 1/4 teaspoon
Dry Red chili – 5
Tomato – 2 
Coconut grating – 1/4 cup
Oil – 3 teaspoon (sesame seeds oil)
Salt to taste


Tempering

Oil – 1 teaspoon (sesame seeds oil)
Mustard seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
Urad dal – 1 teaspoon
Curry leaves – 10



Method
Heat oil. Add peppercorn, fenugreek seeds, and Red chili and fry till nice aroma. Remove it from oil

Add Tomato and fry till mushy. Switch off add coconut and mix well. Let it cool down

Grind Pepper, fenugreek, red chili, tomatoes, coconut with required salt and water

Heat oil. Add mustard seeds let it pop add curry leaves, hing and mix well.

Add to chutney
