Rawa Kichadi

When my kids has long day at school I select a simple yet wholesome option for my lunch (My hubby never pack for lunch). Of course these days I get to choose my favourite. I like the taste of Rawa and it is quite healthy. It is so light that allows me to mix other things like tofu fry, yogurt etc..

Ingredients:

Rawa – 1 cups

Big Onion – 1 Chopped finely
Green chillies – 2 slit into two
Carrots cut into small pieces – 1/4 cup
Green Peas – 1/4 cup

Tomato – 1 Chopped finely
Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
Oil – 1 tablespoons ( I used Gingerly oil)
Salt as per taste

Coriander leaves – 1 teaspoon finely chopped

Method:

Heat the Kada and add Rawa and fry it for 2 mins. Keep it aside
Heat the kada again and add the oil when it is hot add cumin seeds, onion and fry it.
Add Greenchillies and add 2 cup water
Add cut Carrot when carrot is half cooked then add peas
When vegetables are cooked add Rawa to it
When rawa is cooked add tomato and mix it well. Leave it for 2 mins
Switch off and add Coriander leaves

For this I don’t need any side dish but you can try out with Coconut Chutney
