Sweet Sev – Innipu Sev – Diwali snack recipe – Cheeni Sev recipe – Diwali sweet recipes

Our family is very selective on Sweet items. So I seldom do sweets at home. This time for Diwali I wanted to try some quick sweets.. The sweet Sev is something I tasted back home long time ago. These days I am not having much sweet these days. Other day I had this at my friends place and kind of like it.. I also thought my kids and husband might like it. I have tried this and I am right they liked it too. You can try this for upcoming festival and enjoy! Refer to Karasev recipe here

Ingredients:

Gram flour / Bengal gram dhal flour – 1 cup
Rice flour – 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Sugar – 3/4 cup
Water – 1/2 cup
Butter / Oil – 2 teaspoon

Method:

Mix in Gram flour, Rice flour, butter/oil and salt. Add water and make soft dough. If you are making lot you can make the dough in batch and it will get dry fast. Also Close it with wet cloth till you need it

Take a portion of dough in murruku press.. Heat the deep curved pan and press the dough directly to hot oil. Let it cook till Shhh sound subside.

Drain the extra oil Place it on tissue paper till you need it. Let it cool down…Repeat the process..

Boil till you get soft ball consistency. To check the consistency take water in a bowl and add few drops of sugar syrup and you should be able form soft ball

Add Sev to sugar syrup and mix well till sugar coats well..Switch off the flame

Store it in Air tight container. Enjoy
