Tofu is high in protein and low in fat. It’s also very tender and absorbs all of the flavour of the dish. It’s a great blank slate and extremely adaptable.
Whenever I visit a Chinese restaurant I order a tofu dish. Cereal tofu is one of my favorite tofu dishes. Normally it deep-fried dish. But when I wanted to make at home I wanted to try shallow fry instead. I have used the Cereal mix I got from our supermarket. You can make your own mix (Cereal -1 cup, Pepper powder – 1/2 teaspoon, sugar – 1 teaspoon, salt to taste, curry powder- 1 teaspoon). You can use paneer instead of tofu too.
Keep Tofu under a heavy weight for 10 mins to drain extra water out. Slice then thin and 1/4 inch cube. Add turmeric,chili powder & salt. Mix well. Keep it aside for 30 mins
Serve hot!

To combine the protein and oil in the soymilk, most tofu brands use calcium sulphate. This adds additional calcium to tofu’s natural calcium content.

- Vitamin B
- Potassium
- Selenium
- Magnesium
